It's been a while since I've updated here, but there wasn't much to report. I went to Florida for a magic convention, and had a great time. I've been packing and getting ready to move down to Florida permanently, so it's all been boxes and sorting and stuff. Nothing exciting.
I went back to the potion shop and found it empty. Whoever had been staying there was gone, so it was packed up with everything else, in another box. (I'm a little sick of boxes, to be honest).
Halloween came and went. Thanksgiving happened a couple days ago. My family puts up the Christmas tree right after Thanksgiving every year, so we did. I think it looks so pretty.
I went up to photograph it today, and imagine my surprise to find that I was not the only one admiring the tree today. Button?
I called her name and she ran straight for the presents under the tree.
Button is pretty fast, but I saw where she went, and with a little looking around, I found her hiding behind a present.
I said "Hi" and got a very tiny "hello" back. I gently pulled the package away, and there she was! Button!
I had a lot of questions for her. Where had she been all this time? Why was she hiding? Was she the one who'd been living in the potion shop?
She seemed kind of reluctant to talk at first, but I assured her she wasn't in trouble or anything. So then she told me she had been living in the potion shop, but when she saw my note, she packed up and moved. She'd just been "around" for a while, she said.
It felt like I shouldn't pry, so I didn't push it. I was just so happy to see her again! She told me that she'd come upstairs to find Amelia. She figured she'd be out being a display doll again, so we went to look.
Amelia wasn't where she'd been last year. She wasn't anywhere in the case. "But she has to be SOMEWHERE!" Button declared.
We looked around for a while, but there was no sign of Amelia. Button seemed at a loss for where else to look. I suggested "Well, maybe she's looking for YOU and she's back where you've been staying. I would love to see where you've set up house. Should we look for her there?"
Button reluctantly agreed and off we went to see where she's been staying. I'm just so glad to see her again. Things have been chaotic, and I admit, I lost track of her. I lost track of a lot of things.
I've missed her so much. It's nice to have her back....I hope she'll forgive me for being a neglectful companion.
